Guest Highlight: June 2018: Abstract

This was a tough theme for many of us and I think our followers felt the same.  That said we got some really great images submitted to our pages.  This month Ceri of Ceri Herd Photography chose our theme and selected our winner.  The image she chose was submitted by @kramanita and she chose it for the following reason.

“Abstract Photography is a means of depicting a visual image that does not have an immediate association with the object world. A successful abstract image asks us questions, challenges our view of reality and vitally, is a visual delight. This image by Anita is all that and more! The subtle hues, leading lines, slice of focus and dreamy bokeh are spectacular.”

June 2018: Abstract

This month the theme {Abstract} was chosen by Ceri of Ceri Herd Photography.  Abstract art is an interesting medium where the art may take on different forms and colors rather than the traditional recognizable images.  Color,  shape, size, texture, line, space and value are critical for abstract art.

Ceri chose this theme for the following reason:

“For me, capturing abstract imagery is a means of escapism. It is a chance to push myself and try new things. It is taking risks. It is accepting that everyone’s interpretation will be their own; not everyone will like it or understand why, but it will make them think. In a artistic world where we seek constant reassurance and acceptance, I hope this theme pushes you to step outside your comfort zone and try something different from the norm”
