Well we made it to the end of the year, and I love the choice of theme this month. This month Tori of Roots and Twigs Photography will be selecting the guest feature and here are Tori’s thoughts on the topic Bokeh:
Bokeh refers to the out-of-focus portions of an image, and it is greatly affected by the construction of the specific lens used, as well as the aperture setting. If you know me in real life, you know I have a silly side. When I think of bokeh, the words “pixie dust” and “buttah” (butter!) take over. You see, I immediately think of two somewhat-distinct types of bokeh. The pixie dust kind is that of magical, twinkling light – be it sunlight filtered between leaves and branches in a forest, sunlit water droplets on grass, or Christmas tree lights. This type can offer a lovely sparkle and magic to images. The other bokeh that I am particularly fond of is the smoothing effect it can have on backgrounds, when photographing subjects with a narrow depth of field. This effect can allow the subject to really stand out, set off with beautiful colors and tones in the background. And of course, both of these effects can be present in the same image. I can’t wait to see your favorites types of bokeh as you submit for our December theme!
This month we invited the previous selected guest feature artists from this year to join us for the final blog of the year and we are so glad that they have. So this edition is a bumper edition!! You can click on each image or you can click on the first image and move from the first blog to the second by clicking on the link on the page that you are reading. Don’t forget to leave a little love on their pages.
Angela and Claire did not blog, however, they have shared an image for the post this month. You can click on this image to link back to their Facebook page.
As we close out this year, we would like to wish you and your family, a wonderful December, very merry Christmas and a special Holiday Season. May the coming 2017 be rich with love, laughter and good health.
May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks.
May your heart be as light as a song.
May each day bring you bright happy hours,
That stay with you all year long.

For the rest of the month of December and up until January 5th the theme is “Bokeh”
We look forward to seeing your images on the topic bokeh on our Facebook page and our Instagram page. Don’t forget to tag the Instagram posts with #sharesix_bokeh. Each month we feature one artist on our Facebook and Webpage banner. We will also do an interview with the featured artist and invited them to blog with us in the following period, so share your images to be a part of this opportunity.
Look out for the new theme on January 6.
